First Environmental Labs has an expanded accreditation through the State of Illinois and the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) that includes:
Hazardous and Solid Wastes
RCRA Non-Potable Water
RCRA Solid & Hazardous Material
Wastewater
CWA Non-Potable Water
CWA Solid & Hazardous Material
Drinking Water
Our accreditation requires an extensive on-site biennial audit that is performed by a team from the IEPA. The rules of the program require on-going internal and external systems and procedure audits. Our Quality Assurance Manual, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method Detection Limit Studies (MDLs) and Initial Demonstration of Capability Reports (IDC) are some of the many components included in the audits.
The IEPA program is compliant with the current rules and regulations established by the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC). NELAC is an association of state and federal agencies whose purpose is to establish and promote nationally accepted performance standards. Specific standards have been established for laboratory management and technical functions. These include the accreditation process, on-site assessment, proficiency testing, the laboratory’s quality systems.
This is another example of the high quality and service that you can expect from First Environmental!
